Hi Loose Id friends! (Mima waves!)
I'd like to introduce myself. After years of being a Loose Id reader, I'm now pinching myself at having finished edits on my coming-soon-book: In Service. If someone had told me 2 years ago I'd be multi-published and have thirteen works-in-progress at my middle age, I'd have shrugged and said it was a nice dream. A year ago I reached outside of my journals and started the journey from dream to reality. And here I am, author at Loose Id.
Since I was at the Olympics when the end of one of my favorite shows finaled, my mom got the job of taping it. I just got around to watching Joshua's simple statement at the end of "So You Think You Can Dance." It was the usual uplifting thing about believing in your dreams, never quitting, and listening to your heart. And it made me cry.
Ok, so I cry easily. But still. Some human messages are universally appealing, no matter how trite. They got trite because everyone wants to believe. Sometimes hard work pays off. Sometimes a woman who had never had another soul read her writing emails a manuscript to the amazing world of epublishing and gets accepted. And every once in awhile, a kick ass heroine gets to roll with 4 hot guys in a galaxy far, far away. Doesn't that rock?
Mima says don't quit. Be who you are and fight for what you want. It's hard, and it's worth it.
