I wrote last time about having gotten out of practice of writing daily. I'm not a quick writer. At all. What I have been is a consistent writer. Lately? Not so much.
Right now, I seem to have constipation of the words. *blinks*. They are coming slowly even when I put myself in the chair to write daily. Because of this slowness, I get distracted. Even *gasp* the litter box will distract me with the idea, "I have to scoop it." Laundry will distract me. Shiny will distract me and I have to go look at whatever pops into my mind, from a song I must hear to a movie I must look up to a website I must read.
I have no idea why I'm having so much trouble getting this story eked out. It's a Settler's Mine story. I love the world of Settler's Mine. I love the characters. McTavish, Ari, Decker, Isa, all have their little quirks, which I love writing characters with quirks. McTavish's voice is very distinct. I love where the story is going. Hopefully there is going to be an AWESOME plot twist.
As you can see, the story or the characters do not seem to be a problem. I really like what I'm writing when I'm writing even if it is going slowly.
Maybe lack of deadline is the issue?
I have no idea. All I know is, I'm going to work through this. Stay tuned. Hopefully next month, I will have found an end to this insidiousness.
