I wrote last month about trying to declutter both my writing life and my house. My writing life had gotten way too complicated with little time left to write. I've been working on that, giving up some commitments I've made.
Now my eyes have turned toward my house. My hubby and I both are a little bit packrattish. We have those tendencies. My youngest puts us both to shame. She doesn 't want to give up ANYTHING. I'm going to have to sneak her car seat out of the house because she doesn't want to give it up. It's been years since she sat in the thing. But she waxes on about "the memories." Never mind she couldn't wait to graduate out of it.
I'm slowly getting rid of stuff and getting things a little more organized. I tend to let things sit out and build up. Hubby has suggested, and I think he's right, I need to rely more on storage containers and bins to cut down on the clutter. I went shopping last night for bins/storage containers.
Have you seen all the choices??? Fat or skinny. Tall or short. Wide? Chests or single bins. Shoe box or bigger. It's amazing all the choices. And I'm not exactly sure what will work.
It's a slow process. I have to fight myself and then fight youngest to give away anything. But I have made some headway in my bedroom and in the room I write in. Need to make a lot more progress. I hope by end of summer to have my house better organized and less cluttered.
I'll let you know how it progresses!

Good luck. I have the same issues and it's a neverending battle *sigh* I've learned to limit it to certain rooms for the sake of my non-packrat husband. lol
Thanks Marty! I'm still diligently working. LOL mostly.
