Letting go

Sorry I'm a day late on the blog! Life has been extremely busy lately.

There are times when you just have to let go of things, be it kids, anger, your novel.

My children are getting to the age where they are move independent. It's a good thing. I'm struggling with that fine line between being too laid back and letting them find their place in the universe. It's an ongoing process. But I know the time is soon coming when I must step completely and let them meander through their path on their own. Not like tomorrow, but it is coming.

Anger is something that if you hold onto it, it burns you up inside. It will consume you from the inside out. You have to let it go before it does.

Books are something you have to let go of, too. My first novel, Blood Kiss, was one that I held dear to me and didn't want to let it go for a long time. After all, I didn't want it out there. It was precious to me and someone might hurt it (me because I was so connected to it). Unfortunately, the only way to move from being a writer to an author is to SHARE. There's still a part of me that screams, "Take it back!" whenever I submit. But I know you have to let go.

What are some other things you have to let go of? What have you let go recently?
