Self Publishing: Yay or Nay?

We're all here as Loose Id authors and readers, and I think LI is one of the best publishers out there. I'm always impressed with its professionalism and products. I know that when I buy an LI book, I'm getting a high standard of quality.

Evanne Lorraine blogged about the emergence of e-publishing last week, and I've also noticed that self publishing is a burgeoning market. I blogged about my thoughts on self publishing and I'd love to hear some of your opinions. It's something of which I'm leery, and I have no plans to self publish. But it's a growing trend I imagine many of us have an eye on.
