The long and short of it: today's topic is Hair.
Fabio - the historical romance writers ultimate cover hunk - he works the long mane and muscles like nobodies business. Thank God he never stooped to the mullet - the romantic kiss of death. But what about us girls (and guys) that like the idea of a man 'high and tight' - maybe just the tight factor. And then there are those men who are bald and proud of it (Bruce Willis and Jean-Luc, err... Patrick Stewart anyone?).
Then of course you move from the head to lower regions - Chests and underarms, then lower still with shaved genitalia. Shave or not to shave? Neatness versus looking prepubescent smooth? Ahhh... the options!

I think like women, it depends on the man how much hair they should have. So can wear bald and make it look sexy. Some men can wear their hair long and look sexy like cover art vampires. While others just look grungy. Now body hair? While I'm not suggesting any man get waxed, I think the gorilla look is over rated. A little bit goes a long way. LOL! JMO.
I still have somewhere among my memorabilia several Romantic Times covers that have Fabio on them. I well remember his "hey days" as a top romance cover model.
I actually prefer shorter length hair and see that as sexy. I really never cared for guys with "long" flowing hair, especially if the hair was longer than mine. And I do feel "bald" is as sexy as hell on some men as long as they are also fit and trim. In my age group I see a lot of bald, but when there's a beer belly to boot, ugh, a complete turn off!
I never gave much consideration to men's body hair until I saw Robin William's back and almost threw up. I think there's some Wookie in his bloodline somewhere. In moderation, it's fine. In excess ... eeeeeeek! And I think very smooth would make me go eeeeek! too.
I think bald guys can be very hot, if they're comfortable with it. I worked with a man who was mostly bald and shaved the rest and he was yummy. On the other hand, comb-overs and other attempts at concealment turn me off.
Long hair? It depends. If it's dirty, greasy, unkept, it's out. If it's clean and neat, I could go with it. With one important rule: I could never date (or write) a man who spends more time on his hair care than I do myself. So them flowing curls and blond highlights had better come naturally!
Oh, and can we add Hector Elizondo to the list of balding men who are smokin' hot?
Count me in the camp that prefers long hair on women and short hair on guys.
As to the current fad of shaving ones private parts, I have to admit I get squicked every time I read about a shaved pubis in a woman because it comes associated with all kinds of thoughts (correctly or incorrectly so) that guys who prefer that must be having some kind of fascination with pre-pubescent girls. It's a real turn-off for me.
The hair thing I can't understand is when women prefer male models with all their chest hair shaved off. Uh, guys come with hair, it's what makes them different from us (among other things--grin!), so why shave it all off? On women, bikini shaves are reasonable, but the thought of shaving off all pubic hair to look like a little girl seriously icks me out--is that really what men want? A child in bed with them? Eeww!
Long, glorious, sleek, sexy mane. yes yes! Past the shoulders or at least curly and wild to the shoulders.
Personally, I'd go for nearly to completely hairless everywhere else, but it's negotiable :)
Funny as I was thinking about blogging about hair sometime. If you're just talking personal preference, well there you have your answer. Everyone is different and everyone likes different things. You can't please everybody. I don't like it when fiction sets a trend where every guy (or gal) looks the same. That gets boring. My personal taste in men is too varied to say I like one specific thing. One bald guy can be sexy, another not. You've also got to consider if you're talking fact or fantasy. Some women are campaigning not to have to shave, you know! :oP
I like it all. Mark Harmon's short, salt and pepper, Fabio wasn't bad in his hayday, and of course on the bald end there's Vin Deisel...:) Wow, to be able to run my fingers over that bald head...LOL.
I think it just depends on the guy.
I think it very much depends on the guy. Some guys can make a look work for them that on anyone else might be uggh.
I've seen guys be hot with short or long hair and bald heads. I'm not too much for the shaved look on the body. A certain amount of hair is natural. But again, some guys can make it work.
