I've had that happen before with research for books. It's one reason I don't write historicals a lot. I find out all this neat information and want to share it! Which runs into being an info dump. I also worry about getting things wrong. Let's face it, I'm not an expert on any time period and I really like to be as accurate as I can. I live in fear that I'm going to get something in a historical wrong. I'm not saying I'll never write them by the way. Just that's why I tend to favor other genres.
With Be My Moon, I had to research coconuts of all things. I wanted to be sure I had the terminology right and that I knew about them. I discovered a term I thought was correct, wasn't, yet it was the term most commonly known for this particular part of the coconut. It created a dilemma for me. Did I go with the wrong popular term or the right lesser known term? I went with the latter because I do like to be accurate.
The information in my personal life, I'm sure I'll use and make the right decision. But for now, I've overdone the research. The story of my life.

One of the things I love about writing is uncovering those odd little bits of information while you research! I just have to be careful not to get side-tracked - which happens a lot. I only wish i could remember more of what I uncover so I could be witty in company rather than just stand there like a lemon - or banana in my case.
