Mythical creatures

So I'm writing about dragons.

I've been fascinated with them for a while. I bought a book on them a long while back always intending to write a story.

Guess what I haven't read?

I decided to mull over my own dragon world that's not...of Earth. I usually like to know what rules I'm breaking for my own world. That's what I did when I wrote Blood Kiss and the Blood Lines series. I researched vampires and knew what rules I'd keep and which ones I'd bend. But this time I decided I'd create my own fantasy world so I could have my own rules.

I'll read that book one day.

My oldest daughter actually told me today, "You're really obsessed with vampires aren't you?" I think it has something to do with my singing of songs from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's "Once More with Feeling" and that I got her Vampire Academy, but started reading it and told her she wasn't getting it for a while.

Mythical creatures seem to be investing themselves in my life in what I'm reading, writing and watching. Considering the news and what I could be obsessing about, I think mythical creatures are the better option.

I'm also interested in unicorns. I guess that will be a tale for another day...
