New Release: Fighting Chance by Viki Lyn

Whew! This book has had its share of rewrites, rehashing of plot and arguments between Corbin and Johan and me. I swear, these two! Keeping them in line wasn't easy. You can imagine disciplining a vampire and a Kresnik slayer, and getting these two alone so they could either kill each other or (well you can guess the other option!) had me tearing out my hair.

But I've come to love both of them equally - Johan for his emotional intensity and Corbin for his duty and steel determination to be honorable. Stu and Aric, from Last Chance, also have cameo appearances. Stu just loves needling his brother, like siblings often do!

When writing paranormal, I search the net, books and articles for interesting myths and legends that spark my creativity. I've always been drawn to goddess sites, ancient history and religions, and had the opportunity to visit many sacred sites around the world. My personal experiences seep into my mystical worlds and mix with my imagination.

Lepenski Vir, a Mesolithic site on the banks of the Danube River, was the inspiration for the Kresnik mystical island - Alkas. The initiation that Corbin must pass in order to be strong enough to seek his revenge, has its roots in many ancient rituals.

The book borders on fantasy with its otherworldly settings, but like all my books, it's the romance that drives the story.
