Free People Read Freely

September 30 to October 6th is Banned Books Week and It's the 30th anniversary of the observance. I'm a little sad that we have to do this at all but am a big supporter of not banning books.

As an erotic romance author, I do think I have a stake in this. It's not why I'm such a huge supporter but I do know books I write would/could be probably challenged at anytime. I do not write for children or young adults, write for adults only, but that doesn't matter to some.

One of my favorite quotes on censorship is by Mark Twain: Censorship is telling a man he can't have a steak just because a baby can't chew it.

I will be blogging all through Banned Books Week on the subject. I'm reading Fahrenheit 451 to celebrate the week.

Go read a banned book today!

Mechele: Love that quote by Mark Twain. Not sure where I've been but I don't think I've heard that one before.
